Radical Radish

I've been grocery shopping for myself for over four years. That's right, I have the final verdict when it comes to the contents of the household refrigerator. Let's take a look inside. On any day, here's what you're guaranteed to find. The door is crammed full- name your condiment, I probably have it. Sandwich spreads, marinates, Sriracha, (of course!) salad dressings, ketchup (not mine) and a Ziploc bag of suppositories (not mine either). The top shelf is reserved for any homemade jam or jelly- preferably Grandma Walker's. In the lunch meat drawer you might sometimes find some sliced ham, but always a loaf of Cache Valley's sharp cheddar cheese. Then there's 1% milk, some eggs, and bread- you know, the boring stuff. Lastly, in the crisper drawers there will always be at least one green bell pepper and one onion. Can't really say why, but I always have 'em.

On today's grocery outing, the time had come to venture out. I bought a bunch of radishes for the first time. I felt so liberated! Maybe next time I'll buy an eggplant and some parsnips! This photo was taken while snacking on the spicy little numbers this afternoon (dish courtesy of Provo High School's last day of school ceramic class sale, a mighty $1).

Question(s) of the day: What's in your fridge? What's your latest grocery store discovery?

Way to go on the radishes - I'm so proud of you!

After being away from home for the past two weeks, I'm a little worried about what will, or will not, be in my fridge. Hmmmm - most likely it will be fuzzy green or condiments! I hate a cluttered fridge, so I try to keep it bare bones, and I dislike grocery shopping - a sordid spot to be in. So, watch out Provo Farmer's Market (wanna meet me - I miss you) - I'll be there bright and early this Saturday morning. As for my latest discovery - grapefruit juice! I can't live without it, and I even found it at the Safeway's here in Homer, Alaska. Pricey - but still yummy. Ma

My fridge is full of bottles of condiments to suit everyone's taste. I, too, have been away a few days and did a major cleanout with a major refill. My newest addition is a bottle of Simply Lemonade - I love their Orange-Mango. My freezer is even scarier!
