The summer before my Senior year in high school, I spent a week visiting a friend in Tucson, AZ. While there, I snatched up the opportunity to cross the border into Mexico. As we explored the border town of Nogales, I remember seeing bags like these everywhere. Of course I wagered with the various people selling them, and got three bags for about 5 dollars! (This is supposedly what should be done when shopping in any bordertown.) Since summer is approaching, I pulled out my mesh handbags from storage and have been receiving compliments on them like I do every summer. They're fun, light-weight, and versatile- grocery bag, beach bag, diaper bag, and a purse of sorts. I especially like the last bag pictured here. Something about the Day of the Dead tradition that makes me smile... You can also find some similar styles here.
