Books, books, books!

I have a goal to read a book or more a month this year. So far, I've been doing well. In February I read the southern classic, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. I read this book a few times when I was younger, but was surprised the last time around by how good this book really was! If you've never read this book, or its just been a long time, I suggest buying a copy to keep around and read it again and again through the years to come. This is a story about the struggle for acceptance in a racially, status divided world. Well worth your time...

In January I read a play by August Wilson titled, Seven Guitars. August Wilson was introduced to me by one of my favorite college professors at Utah Valley State College, Rob Carney. In the several literature classes I've taken from him, I've read two other plays by August Wilson as well... Fences and The Piano Lesson. My favorite out of the three would have to be The Piano Lesson. If you enjoy a quick read, all three of these plays are excellent... there's nothing else out there quite like them!
