Wish List

In the back of my mind, I always have a wishlist. Here are a few random things that I would just love to have.

"The Wild Trees: A Story of Passion and Daring," by Richard Preston. The other day while driving to work, I heard an interview with the author on NPR. I was truly fascinated and hence my reason for wanting this book. Check out more here and here.

Shapeable straw hat from Mast General Store in Asheville, NC. A few summers ago I bought myself one of these on a weekend hiatus from the Folk School. We've spent many hot summer days together, including Cataract Canyon. It's time for a new one!

The other night Cliff and I watched "The Sandlot," a classic kid film set in the early 1960's. While watching the scene of the all night baseball game on the Fourth of July, (which happens to be my favorite holiday) "America the Beautiful," played beautifully in the background by Ray Charles. I also have another connection to the music of Ray Charles. On the Fourth of July in 2003, my good friend Shannon and I made a daring trip to downtown Atlanta and spent a very memorable holiday listening to Ray sing "Georgia On My Mind," as the fireworks displayed above us. I want this album.
